Children of Carthach and Dairine aren’t born - they’re made. Like their parents before them, they’re shaped out of latent elemental magic, but this time, they were created on purpose. After centuries of existence, the two nature spirits have learned how to manipulate the magic that suffuses Sornieth to create new life.

Shaped like a dragon, but unmistakably fey, any hatchling of theirs is uncomfortable for mortal dragonfolk to be around. Most don’t care, more interested in their own goals than conforming to the expectations of those around them, but some few children become experts at adapting instead. No matter what, they all have a powerful connection to the nature and earth magics that gave them form, and no one, not even their parents, know what they will become.

While all of Dairine and Carthach’s children have a connection to plant life, Sorley has a particular enthusiasm. Plants he’s around just seem to grow, even without much convincing on his part. When they rest in the forest, vines twine around their tail and flowers tuck themselves behind their ears. He’s not very good at controlling the verdant enthusiasm his presence brings, which has gotten him in trouble a time or two in mortal settlements. They’re working on it, as they enjoy observing mortal culture from time to time, and it’s hard to catch a play if the local landscaping is attempting to cuddle. Still, he tends to be most comfortable in a forest, surrounded by plants and taking a nap in a tree.
