Nayan is not a very well known part of the Royal Library- in fact, no one is, but for Nayan, it seems like Nayan never leaves. Maybe that's why Nayan is so dusty- Nayan frequently gets lost in the restricted bookshelves and either falls asleep or forgets Nayan can fly.

No one really knows where Nayan came from. Many of the senior archivists think Nayan was dragged in off the street, or maybe conjured as a familiar, but in the end, no one knows for sure except Ceinlys himself. Others think Nayan's brainless nature is a ruse, or that Nayan is a zombie (a common rumor started by some whelps). Either way, Nayan is not currently a figure to be feared- if you see Nayan drifting down the bookshelves, it is best to politely wave or just ignore Nayan.
