Curious and green, Wisp is a lone dragon living near a still lake. Separated and lost as a baby, Wisp grows up blind and alone. Having met no other dragon in her life, she confuses herself with the other wild life around. Especially her favorite beaver, Willow. Believing Willow is her baby, or at least, her's in some sense, Wisp cares for her.

The two spend their days playing within the crystal waters of the lake and terrorizing the honey bees living from the trees near them. That is, until a new and strange presence enters their home. An imperial male named Typhoon, who's just as curious about Wisp as she is about him. While Willow's curiosity on the other hand, seems to be more hostility. His presence not only upsets Wisp, but also makes her realize just how different she is, even amongst dragons.
