I think I lost the whole text about this concept when I had a bio accidentally get deleted. I'll have to try and remember how it went (rewritten versions always suck though)


The dragons of the cave system had lived there safely for generations, but all clan members understood what must be done to maintain that safety. Stay close to the hearth fires, never let them go out, stay out of the deeper caves. Never leave anything unattended in the dark and never ever bring anything back. Those rules kept them safe from the cave. Nothing protected them from invaders from the surface.

Long after the echoes of screams and violence had faded into silence and the hearth fires guttered into ashes the true dweller in the cave crept up from the depths. Carried on the cool moist air it settled on a fallen toy dragon and the spores began to grow.
