Biography

Like his twin brother Vulcan, Hephaestus hails from the Cloudscrape Crags, on the right side of the Icewarden's peninsula. As a child, he was taught to fear the domain of the Flamecaller, told he would melt in the awful heat. One fateful night, a blizzard swept in over a mountains as Hephaestus and his brother had wandered too far, sweeping them out to sea. On a log together they floated across the ocean, their ice hides scorched by the sun they endured for the 3 long days the boys were out at sea. By the time they landed on the mysterious black shores of the Ashfall Wastes, their skin was burned this dark brown color, opposed to the beige, almost yellow color they used to adorn. This scorched hide was resistant to the heat, allowing the two ice flight wildclaw hatchlings to walk across the burning sand in search for their mother, who was across the sea. After days of searching, their stomachs grumbled and they were incredibly parched, finding themselves in the Flintlock Fumaroles. They were taken pity on by the dragons there, being so out of their element. Hephaestus noticed such passion and empathy in this land's people despite their often terrifying appearances, baring lava and metal as clothing, and orange eyes that glowed like hot embers. He was curious to learn about their culture and eventually fell into it himself, becoming a doctor and priest to help the people that helped him as much as he could.
