Biography
Emery watched the sermon with despair. The speaker - a rather unusual Obelisk dressed in an Emperor themed costume - rattled on about the coming apocalypse, how salvation would come to those who made physical contact with the Emperor Luminax.
"You'll kill everyone with your lies!" He spat at her as the crowd surged past the safety barricade towards Luminax. "You know this is wrong! Why... WHY are you doing this?"
Xanimul lifted her guise slightly, allowing Emery to look her directly in her eyes as she spoke. "A war is coming, you know. Once more, the Gods shall clash and bring ruin to Sornieth! You've heard the rumours, I know."
Emery shook his head. "The land is more united now than it ever has been!"
This response was met with mocking laughter, the Obelisk throwing her head back in amusement. "You are not so naive as to believe your own convictions, surely? Plague and Nature are trying to sabotage one another, Tidelord is long gone, and the very conception of my kind was brought about by Earthshaker leaving! There IS a war coming, the gods will rise and fight each other again!"
Behind her there were screams, mingled with Luminax's snapping jaws and the sound of tearing flesh. Emery averted his eyes, staring down at the ground as he struggled to keep his cool. Xanimul turned from him, knowing she'd won the argument for now. Though of course, he just had to get the final word.
"You will pay for your ignorance some day. Mark my words, Xanimul."
