Henry--Mister Henry to the hatchlings that receive his tutoring--is a scientist full to bursting with a love of adventure. A great admirer of the natural beauty of Sornieth, he spends most of his nights camped out under the stars, letting the sounds of frogs and crickets lull him to sleep. His enthusiasm in sharing the wonders of nature with others has made him an unofficial science teacher to many of the hatchlings of the Archipelago, who regard him with respect and awe. Groups of young dragons accompany him on camping trips through the Arcane wilderness (only the safe areas, of course) and return home buzzing about the telltale signs of wild magic in the mountain air, the growth habits of trees in the Starwood Strand, or the chemical reaction that gives the Mana Thief its characteristic bioluminescence. Henry's time spent wandering the wilds of the Starfall Isles has made him an experienced survivalist--after all, not all his travels bring him through the safe and well-trodden areas he camps out with his students in. He is an expert at navigation, building fires, and foraging for food (though there are a few local fungi whose edibility even he hasn't dared test; he's adventurous, not reckless). As such, he's a common source of knowledge even to adult dragons that aim to conquer the outdoors. Often, Henry and Tobias meet to share survival tips and tales of their travels: Tobias describing his newest findings on local wildlife in giddy detail while Henry waxes poetic about his latest camping spot. |
Some of Henry's students, tactless as young hatchlings commonly are, have asked him why he has no children of his own. After all, his paternal nature is plain to see, and a good chunk of the Archipelago's younger population already views him as a surrogate father anyways.
