easar.
the greeter
Quote:
Easar is Thunder Hollow's drowsy greeter--and very often the first face new visitors see when they arrive. She spends a great deal of her time dozing in Stoneshape at the top of Havenwatch Tower, the spire which sits at the center of the city. She keeps watch for newcomers who land beside the brazier she guards, and she is responsible for guiding them to the more sheltered lounge on the second floor.
Easar is outwardly a very sleepy and mellow dragon, but she is internally driven by a strong desire to guide and protect others. As the daughter of two Statueborn Obelisks, her sense of duty is heightened compared to that of more distant descendants, and she fulfills her compulsions to warn and defend by helping others recuperate after long flights. Despite being a newer member of Thunder Hollow, especially compared to the others who work in the Clan Management and Informations Bureau, she has a commanding knowledge of the clan's layout and customs. She uses this knowledge to guide visitors to their desired destination.
Her Stoneshape is pure, bright bronze--a curiously fitting match for the ceremonial brazier at the top of Havenwatch Tower, which was cast long before her arrival. She spends a large portion of time in Stoneshape for the purposes of preserving energy. One of her driving passions in life is to ensure that she is never unprepared for even the most grueling of tasks.
She stubbornly refuses to take any sort of personal time away from her duties as a greeter or the time she spends in Stoneshape. As such, she has no hobbies to speak of, and she often finds herself adrift during the handful of times throughout the year where her position is unnecessary. Though she has no problems talking with others and providing for their needs, she struggles to make true friends because her dedication prevents her from devoting the proper time to any such relationship. She also tends to refuse gestures of kindness, viewing it as her job to provide such trifles of affection--not the other way around.
She is very frugal and spends little of her substantial earnings. She hoards her money in the Treasury as a "safety net" for any emergencies that arise.
She is strongly spiritual, and part of her dedication to "the job" stems from her devotion to Lightning-flight principles.
