Hyperion and Theia were originally plain marble statues, created in replica of the real obelisks as a pair of gate decorations. After buying them from a seller of oddities, Magisa did a series of experiments, hoping to replicate the phenomenon that awakened the breed in the first place. In the end, she has to resort to using some of Malakai's blood to bring her experiments to life.

The pair largely keep to themselves, more comfortable acting as guards of the lair than as clanmates to their fellow dragons. As the clan's attempts to include them continue to fall flat, they eventually give up, leaving the pair in solitude, one at each end of the cliff-shelf lair.

Theia knows, as most obelisks do, that something terrible is coming, and soon. Even so, all she can do is wait.
