An ancient and powerful force slumbers in Vates. Although, or precisely because of that, he cannot really see anything in this world. For him everything seems blurry and out of focus, as if he was seeing through a dark haze. But, however, this veil is not a limitation, quite the opposite. If he concentrates on something, he sees things that would be completely invisible to others. Everything around him, whether it is another dragon, a living being or even an object, everything has its own unique aura. As a hatchling, his parents didn't seem to have really noticed that Vates' way of seeing was a little different. They sent him, his sister Vites, and all of his other siblings away, without names. The young quadruplets were looking for a new home on their own, but they were separated during this time. Only he and Vites stayed together. Years later they found out that one of their sisters still had no name, but had found a satisfying job. Her other sister had found a name, but was lost forever in the realm of the Windsinger. Losing their parents and siblings so early was a bit much for the two young Fae's, they have been inseparable ever since and where Vites was, Vates wasn't far. Since then, Vates has had problems articulating. His parents' disinterest and his overwhelming way of seeing didn't really make it any easier for him. Although he knew the words, he could not pronounce them clearly and quickly enough. Fortunately for him, he had vites. She understood him in a way like no other, knew what he wanted to say and so did the talking for him. This is how they found their way to Viventem's clan. She had found them then and raised them like their own children. She recognized the talent of the two and encouraged them. There was another dragon in the clan, a hatchling just a few days younger than themselfs. She was born with the same primal power, and along with her, Vates were taught a lot. Together with her, the two siblings got to know and use magic. Something they couldn't even have dreamed of before. After they grew up, and Waterstone sent on the search, the siblings wanted to find their place in the clan. For a long time they wanted to serve their adoptive family as magicians, but they weren't really happy. Eventually they got a message from Waterstone. She wrote to them that she, along with some others, had founded her own clan in the realm of the Tidelord. In the letter, Waterstone asked the two of them to join her and the clan. With Viventem's blessing, they set off and finally met their friend again. Since then, Vates and Vites have been valued members of the Aestuum Clan. They both work as magicians and Vates pursues his gift as a seer. He often sees small snippets of the future and with the help of his sister he interprets them. At the moment, the two siblings are also repeatedly working on Vates' language difficulties. Those who are looking for help can still only speak to Vites, but in relaxed situations, Vates now dares to speak more and more. |
