Gender: Female Age: 17 Occupation: Member of the Veric Order, defector, warrior, member of the Bloodwringer Cult (former) Hometown: Alyntis Born Talyna Wirenta to Melioran and Quensila Wirenta, Talyna's early childhood was normal - loving parents, flowering garden, white picket fence, small cosy home in a sleepy town - until irreconcilable differences and one too many arguments drove her parents apart. Quensila left without a word, shattering Talyna's idyllic illusion, and never contacted her daughter again. Melioran was adrift, distant from his child and distraught after his divorce, until he found Creanisa, who helped him back to his feet and gave him purpose in life. He joined the Bloodwringer Cult as Creanisa's prime fighter and later war minister. Talyna grew up smothered by the cult atmosphere and beliefs, which was all she was ever exposed to. Her father, upon joining, took her out of public school and sent her to be homeschooled by someone in the employ of Creanisa. While she occassionally questioned what she was taught as she had been exposed to regular society before her father's conversion, as a child, she did not protest much, and was content to be submerged in the faith of the Bloodwringer. However, once Creanisa and the cult overthrew the Aldoveres and assumed the throne, Talyna began to question everything about her life more deeply. She was a strong, eager, and capable fighter, but she hated how innocents were killed in the cult's crusade for victory. Despite her colleagues' attempts to sway her beliefs otherwise, needless bloodshed was against her code as a warrior. Talyna began to investigate the world outside of the cult and slowly realised that the environment she was in was morally wrong and toxic for her. She began to plot her escape and defection to the Veric Order, but the Order was secretive and unwilling to trust someone who had been in the cult. Talyna refused to give up. She vowed to leave the first opportunity she got, no matter what it took.

P E R S O N A L I T Y
Having been raised in a cult, Talyna used to be pliable and easily swayed as she was conditioned to blindly trust her father and her superiors in the group. She was very trusting and friendly with others. However, since realising the cult's faults and the fact that she had been manipulated and misled by those she trusted, she underwent a sharp shift in personality. Now, she is cold, paranoid, and obstinate. Her belief is that the only person she can have faith in is herself, and she has difficulty trusting others, especially those in places of power. She purposefully isolates herself and pushes other people away, an issue which is compounded by her abandonment issues due to her mother leaving her - before she tried being overly friendly to convince people to stay, but since leaving the cult, she has resorted to forcefully keeping people at bay since her sense of trust has been fully destroyed. Talyna is also argumentative, hot-tempered, and has a propensity for violence due to the cult's conditioning of her as a soldier. She is reluctant to be expressive and emotional in public as she is uncomfortable with that degree of vulnerability.
However, she is also both physically strong and mentally strong. She is a skilled, instinctive fighter, capapble of brute force as well as tactical manoeuvring, something that is complemented by her agility, dexterity, and acrobatic flexibility. Talyna possesses impressive mental fortitude due to her strong sense of self-confidence, something she has focused on cultivating since she separated herself from the cult's ideology. She has a witty, cutting sense of humour. Talyna also is passionate about her interests, highly energetic, and enthusiastic, throwing herself into all her pursuits. Once she sets her mind to something, she gets it done. She is steadfast in her loyalty (however scarcely given out) and commitment. And while she is reclusive with her emotions, she feels very strongly and intensely; she's a very intense person in general, an all-or-nothing type.

K E Y R E L A T I O N S H I P S
Serenophia Aldovere/Alisa Bravaldie:: the figurehead and queen of the resistance. Their relationship started out as quite antagonistic as Serenophia's blind trust in the Order collided with Talyna's doubting and mistrustful attitude, but after overcoming these initial differences they become incredibly close. Seren was integral in helping Talyna feel safe enough to come out of her shell, express herself more freely, and trust others again. The revelation of her identity fabrication did damage their closeness, but they were able to overcome this hurdle and repair their relationship, which does in the end progress into a romantic one.
Torfin Azarith: a regular citizen and Valtair resident who joined the Veric Order for vengeance after his parents were killed in a protest against Creanisa. Another member of the friendship group that formed around Serenophia, while Torfin and Talyna start off merely as friends through Seren, they quickly become friends in their own right. As he grew up fully immersed in regular Orianta, he was eager to help in showing Talyna parts of the world that she missed while trapped in the cult and exposing her to anti-cult sentiments to validate her difficult decision to defect, and his intelligence and logical nature endeared him to the brusque, withdrawn Talyna. Melioran Wirenta: her father. While they used to be close in her early childhood, the loss of her mother left a stain on their bond and affected both of them greatly. Melioran, deep in the trenches of despair after the loss of his wife, didn't know how to approach an equally despondent Talyna and was unsure of his ability to be a good parent on his own. When he joined the Bloodwringer Cult, revitalised by Creanisa's support, he remained unsure of how to interact with his daughter, instead leaving her in the care of the cult while he dedicated all of his time and energy to serving Creanisa. His absence has left a mark on Talyna and was a major part of her developing immense trust issues and a pathological fear of further abandonment. She struggles with reconciling the warm, loving father she remembered and still couldn't help but love with the cold and brutal man at Creanisa's side. Talyna can't help but wonder why she wasn't enough for her father, and why Creanisa was. Quensila Wirenta née Kennar: her mother. They used to be very close, but when Melioran and Quensila's relationship deteriorated and fell apart, so did her relationship with her daughter. After the divorce, Quensila left and never contacted Talyna again, a mere passing goodbye being their final words to each other. The complete disconnection took a large toll on the child Talyna and continues to affect her today, as she now has difficulty being close and vulnerable with people lest they abandon her. The lack of explanation or closure also weighs on her, as the divorce didn't have to mean total lack of contact. Talyna still has no knowledge of where her mother ended up and she still isn't sure if she fully wants to know.

M I S C E L L A N E O U S
She refuses to look anything but presentable at all times; it gives her a confidence boost and maintains her strong reputation to others. She also wears clothes which are comfortable for her to spontaneously start fighting in, and always carries at least one weapon on her, usually multiple at a time. She usually speaks gruffly and in short sentences, and is uncomfortable with physical touch.
Her least favourite colour is red since it was the signature colour of the cult and the colour of the blood which they worshipped. Her favourite colour (if black doesn't count) is probably silver for its use in her metal blades, as well as yellow for its aura of happiness. She always needs to be moving and hates sitting still due to the amount of energy she has. Her favourite past-time is sparring or training, though she also enjoys going running or for relaxing walks. Yoga is also a hobby of hers. |
