Hoshi

A large, imposing industrial laboratory the size of a small city. From an outside view, one can see the faint silhouette of desolate and expansive grey buildings, obscured by the fog. If not for the constant noise emitted by the facility, one would assume it to be abandoned.
It has multiple underground passages reaching all the way to the edges of the lightning farm. These enormous passageways, once kept secret, are primarily used as means of transportation to and from multiple cargo stations. With the sandsurges' recent reemerging, it has been speculated to previously have been their area of operations.
They operate under the Stormcatcher, working to expand lightning's reach and improve their technology - although the site is much more concerned with its personal endeavor of obtaining knowledge of the unknown. They are much more recognized as a research site - but they keep up their quota.

Research employees are sorted under three main categories - engineers, scientists, and technicians.
Scientists work to expand our database of knowledge. The lab houses scientists of all kinds, from chemists to physicists, and even medical scientists.
Engineers come up with plausible solutions to certain problems. They work closely with our scientists and technicians, often acting as a bridge between the two.
Technicians are the guys who make those solutions work and bring them to life. They also comprise most of the facility's workforce.
-maintenance/repairs personnel fall under technicians.

Staff in the storm towers are sorted under a special "harvester" category, and separated into 3 classes: Stormguides, marshalls, and ATCs (air traffic controllers). Stormguides "guide" lightning into collection points, hence the name. Marshalls in turn direct stormguides into those points, and ATCs monitor ongoing flights to make sure they go smoothly.

there are also office guys who do paperwork and miscellaneous but ever invaluable staff like your janitors and receptionists, secretaries.. etc..

The lair is a dying dream. What was once a team effort towards advancement has now become a product of greed and evil, and has caused insurmountable grief. How many more lives must we lose in the name of progress?
