Zephuros

The crystal in his chest was the only real reason he was alive. His heart beat due to the stone his mate had found for him in a sacred and lost temple deep underground in the Canyons of the world scar. He had fallen in battle but she had wished for him to live still. The fates were unusually cruel however as he had awoken with many of his memories, including those with her.. gone. Vanished like the smoke that he should've turned into after his first death.
Her love for him had conquered all else natural in their known world and her magic, combined with the crystal had repaired the damages done to him and made him victorious.
The crystal still had a price... It had changed his form and his fur and scale, much of it becoming rather long and feather esc. He was rather similar to a lost legendary creature... The Death Seeker. A bird the battle goddess Morrigan would send to those in danger of losing their lives in battle. He supposed the twisted joke of it was rather humorous once he'd begun to accept such permanent changes in his life.
Fate was a strange thing. But he was thankful for his mates' patience.. and she seemed to love him no matter how long it took for him to fall for her all over again.
