During a fight between a group of Tundras and a group of Nocturnes that lasted 6 years, Zwei spotted a lonely Tundra flying low over the Tangled Wood. He had been resting at the time but jumped at the chance to earn another victory and quickly took off. Once at the Tundra's side, however, he noticed that she was badly hurt, barely flying, and terrified. He decided to escort her the safety of the Sunbeam Ruins as no dragons there were fighting. Ye Olde Pub, however, kept flying towards her home in the Southern Icefield. Zwei accompanied her all the way to the Southern Sea, the area of water between Mainland Sornieth and the Southern Icefield. After the fighting has stopped, he found her again and they became best friends. They consider each other to be siblings.

Zwei is based on Franz Stigler's Messerschmitt Bf 109, who I have decided to call Zwei due to the plane having originally been only referred to as 'Yellow 2'. On December 20th, 1943, German Luftwaffe pilot, Franz Stigler noticed a damaged American B-17— Ye Olde Pub— flying low over the treetops. He was one kill away from earning an Iron Cross so he had his plane quickly rearmed and refueled before flying up to the bomber to shoot it down. When he got to it, however, he noticed that the crew wasn't shooting at him. He looked into Ye Olde Pub through one of the many gaping holes in her side and saw that her crew was terrified and badly injured. He remembered being told by his commanding officer in North Africa, Gustav Rodel, that "If [he] ever [saw] or [heard] of [them] shooting at a man in a parachute [he would] shoot [them himself]." Stigler decided that shooting at the plane would be like shooting at a parachutist and decided to escort them to Sweden as it was neutral territory and nearby. He changed his position to be in the position used to escort planes and tried to signal to Charlie Brown— Ye Olde Pub's pilot— to get him to land in Sweden. Not understanding, Charlie Brown flew on and Franz Stigler stayed by the crew's side until they reach the North Sea where he gave Charlie Brown a salute and turned back. He didn't tell anyone about it in order to keep from being killed. After the war, Franz Stigler found Charlie Brown and the two became best friends. The two died in 2008 a few months apart from each other.
