The sylphs and nymphs of the forest stirred as the foliage about them gleamed with the anticipation of an egg of nature being born somewhere in the tangle of stiff vines and the dreary flowers. The ethereal beings rejoiced, whispers echoing through the trees as they fluttered about searching for the egg. Our new ruler!errrrrrrrrrrasd adsasdaytsdThe chosen one! The celestial residents of the forests sought a dragon born from a flower to rule over them as only dragons of such a grace can protect their home. With the dawning sun peeking through the towering branches and leaves of the vast pines, the sylphs and nymphs discovered the egg, a glistening seed with thick bark and lush leaves protruding from the top. It was perched still upon a grand pink lotus afloat in a shallow pond abundant with cattails and the harsh croaking of frogs. They plucked the lotus and whisked the egg away to insure the dragon was born and raised properly. Rumors of the one dragon spread through the forests and throughout the lands beyond; rumors of the one who could potentially revive the forests to its former glory and possibly the world; but the Queen of Ice, Shavira, would have none of that. She despised anything that wasn’t encased in snow and ice. Her spell was gently spreading across the world, gradually draining the life out of anything it touched and twisting them into a lifeless form. The forests of the sylphs and the nymphs was next in line and without a dragon to protect them, they would soon wilt to the chill. Shavira's spell could take weeks or even months to morph the forest, but it was enough time to see the hatchling grow into a protector, a proper Queen for them. The Sylph Queen, Freya, indeed grew quickly and was imbued with the powers of the very trees and flowers that graced the forests and so she vowed to protect the entities and the forests. Her mane was as vibrant as the flowers that once sprinkled the forest floors and her scales a soft brown like the bark of the pines. The sylphs and nymphs were in awe of their new Queen. The power and life of the forests were far too drained though and with nothing for Freya to draw her power from to enhance her own, the lives of the forests slowly succumbed to the Queen of Ice’s spell. Shavira's spell was far too great for Freya to combat against. Freya’s soft supple mane and scales turning into crystal clear ice, the colors gradually faded into a pale rosy tint. She still lived compared to the sylphs and nymphs whom have become frozen like icicles dangling from the barren pines. Her life spared, only to now serve as a knight for Shavira, a watcher of the arid lands. | potato |
