Biography

He/Him ~ Currently Unnemployed
On the run - anxious - eager

Squid knew from the moment he hatched he was part of some bizarre breeding program. His father had only confirmed so; telling young Squid about how Crab's parents and siblings had been sold as fodder as soon as he was selected. So, from the very start, Squid was constantly paranoid. Luckily- or possibly unluckily- he had been chosen to carry on the next generation of this cruel experiment. So, just as his father had said, his parents and siblings were sold as cheap fodder.

That's when Squid decided he needed to escape. He had caught wind of a sort of trading post, but for dragons. So, as soon as he felt ready enough, he set off, determined to break the cycle of childhood trauma. And, that's where he's ended up now- traveling around Sornieth in hopes of a better life.

Uh-oh, looks like this Abyssal Bundle of Thorns wandered a little too far from his home lair (586239, Anomal0car1s), and now he's off to see the world! If ever you feel the need to exalt, he'd really appreciate it if you could just return him to the home lair, or to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here. This is not necessary, but he would be very grateful!

Owners I've Had:

Anomal0car1s | Terreneuvia
Strangeflesh | Corrosionius
Aeranautics | Terrathorn
Fantivity | Clan Burning Fantasies
Zikul | A little tree house
MoonlilyluvsCas | The Fount of Travelers
Woodchip | Wanderlust
KingVulture | Crow Callers
QueenRed | The Clan of the Unnamed Wanderers
Sekine | Emerald Skies Caravan

Journal Entries:

Can't write much now. Decided to stop for a second to start documenting my journey, though I can't see very well in the dim moonlight. Hopefully my dark scales keep me camouflaged. Currently on my way to my next clan. Who knows- maybe I'll fall in love with travel (foreshadowing)? Haha. Anyways, gotta go-

I made it a real town in the Scarred Wasteland! My stay there was nice, I made some friends, like Mucormycosis, who was also born as fodder, but in a shade-worshiping cult! Isn’t that something? Anyway, I couldn’t stay for long, as I still want to see the world, but I will make her keep writing her letters.

After weeks of traveling through Dragonhome, I had finally made it around the giant quarry that is Terraclae. Dragon clans living inside caves and tunnels make me a bit nervous -- after all, I don't know my way through tunnels for a quick getaway. On my way out of Terraclae, I checked in to a little motel to get my bearings and rest. The rooms were renovated train cars, but that doesn't mean they weren't cozy or nicely decorated. And the pizza at the diner nearby was fantastic for any meal. It's only been half a week, but I think that's long enough for me to rest.

Found a really cool garden place. People are nice here, and they make good food. But what I've enjoyed most about my stay is this little fae that sings such pretty songs. It really calms my mind when she makes such lovely music. She left a bit ago, so I think I will, too. It's nice here but I miss traveling.

I stumbled across an imperial who called himself Aquila while taking a rest in Driftwood Drag. Or rather, he stumbled across me. Almost crushed me with his foot! After a bit of insisting, I accepted his offer to ride in one of his satchels. We travelled to his home in Singer's Brook, where there was a small nomadic band of dragons who were settling down for a bit. We shared stories of our travels, it was interesting listening to their experiences. I didn't stay for too long, as the skies were calling for me to keep going.

After a long while of traveling alone, I ended up being picked up by a group of traveling merchants on their way back to their home site. They apparently have a home base in the Windswept Plateau, but not all of their merchants are originally from there. They were nice to me and even gave me a small job to do as a way to pay them back for the free ride across Sornieth. I ended up helping their animal handler Tonalli look after a new flock of birds he's trying to nurse back to health. I was tasked with cleaning cages and just socializing with the birds.

I was only traveling with them for about 2 weeks before I decided to move on. Traveling with those merchants made me realize that I still don't know what my "calling" in life is. I know I'm being too hard on myself right now. It's only recently that I escaped an unwanted situation. As I move on from here, I'm going to pay more attention to what the dragons around me have chosen to do with the one life they've been given. Maybe I can find my purpose among those many examples.
