Sired from the higher echelon of Necromantic society, it was meant to have been a boon, but instead it was a malediction. Born with vitiligo he was looked upon with scorn, not being 'the proper' colouring for a necromancer, even looking half lich, many did not hide their contempt.

Except one.

It was on the celebration of The Mother, despite being an outcast Neurem prowled the walls of the ballroom. Watching the younglings play, spying on the elders having their animated talks, or gazing on the many dancing in the centre. He wasnt there for socialising, only just to pay his respects to The Mother and then promptly leave. It was bad enough he could see the old bides giving him the side eye, or parents pulling their young ones away from "it".

Finally deciding to claim a corner to himself, he lazily sat down, shut his eyes, and listened to the sounds. It was like, whenever he shut off his other senses he could hear the world. The sound of the jewels adorning the many around him, the occasional crackle from the many torches lit, or the sound of a dragon standing in front of him.

"Why do you sit alone?"

Snapping his eyes open he looked towards the speaker, "why not.... My Lady" he hastily corrected, not wanting to offend the leader of his clan, Pythia.

She looked straight into his eyes and hummed quietly, "it is a shame they are blind to the diamond right in front of them".

"A diamond My Lady?", he was confused. Since being born he did not recall meeting their leader, till now, so when did she notice him?

Leaning forward Pythia spoke firmly, "all necromancer children are made to The Mothers will, but you.... you are so much more than that young one" a slow smile of wonder appearing slightly.
