Syrion

In the beginning, powerful entities traversed the world. Eventually, they grew lonely; some wanted to be worshipped, some wanted servants to act as emissaries or messengers, and some wanted children to raise and lead.
The gods were so powerful that in order to use their power to create, they had to convalesce or condense into a form strict enough to solidify their power from pure free-floating energy. Syrion chose the strict ideals of pure justice and balance to stabilize Her form enough to create her children, the Syr.

She gave Her children a vast stone city, Liyor (The Home), and a form in her image, known as the Anda Kra(Night People). They were wise and powerful, wielding the white flame of justice, able to make any being experience the full guilt of their sins. Her daughters acted as soldiers to carry out Her judgements, and Her sons acted as judges and determiners of fate. For centuries, the Syr in the form of the Anda Kra carried out their Mother's wishes. Noticing the bipedal, humanoid form other gods gave to their creations, she granted one to Her Syr, allowing them to choose the appropriate form for the situation at hand- nimble, less conspicuous, humanoid, or vast, divine Andra Kra.

However, Syrion grew doubtful of her children's devotion. They were often tempted, and drew off of Her holy path of balance. As a test, she drew away from Her children, seeking to know if they would stay to Her truth or draw away. She despaired as they faded from Her ideals, and hid Herself away, taking the Andra Kra away from Her children, leaving them as simple humanoids unable to access Her purifying flame and power.

The Syr's numbers dwindled and the city of Liyor was conquered by a foreign people. It was renamed Li Loro (Spear City) for the spires of the churched there. The Syr struck a deal: They would protect and serve the city and its new people as long as they could stay in their ancestral home. For almost a millenia the Syr lived in contentment in Li Loro, forgetting their God. The name of the Anda Kra was forgotten as well, until it was mistranslated to Ndakr. Enetually, though, a young boy rediscovered the wonder of his people's ancient religion...
