Mudpuppy

Like their name suggests, there is nothing Mudpuppy loves more than a good romp in the mud. Aissa found them while on one of her many trips to Dragonhome, and brought the exuberant hatchling home with her, treating them as an adoptive offspring, since she has no desire to rear her own hatchlings with a mate. As Mudpuppy grew, however, they never gained the ability to speak, no matter how much Aissa tried to encourage them. Izrea, the clan healer, believes that Mudpuppy's condition is a rare genetic mutation, for which there is no cure. Luckily, Mudpuppy is unbothered by their inability to converse with their clanmates, and instead enjoys simply spending time with them (especially when mud is involved).

As a Fire flight dragon, it's unknown how Mudpuppy came to be so obsessed with mud, but Izrea believes their fixation could be related to the genetic mutation which cost them their voice. In any case, mud is the one thing that seems to make Mudpuppy happy in life, and they can often be found rolling in the gloopy earth in utter bliss. No one in the clan is sure what their scales actually look like, since Mudpuppy is always coated in a thick layer of sludge. They are terrified of baths or any physical touch in general, but otherwise enjoy being in the company of other clan members.
