The Harbinger - Demon of Dread

An ancient demon of dread only recently discovered in ancient texts, Deimos is said to be just as, if not older than its "brother", Phobos. While they do not seem to be actually related, wherever Deimos is seen, Phobos is not far behind. As such, Deimos has been referred to as a "harbinger", although there have been a few - rare - cases where Deimos was supposedly seen without Phobos. Although the authenticity of these cases is debatable, as the only records of Deimos are from prior to Icaris' existence.

Tales of Deimos tell of it being much more intelligent than Phobos, who is often depicted as nothing more than a mindless monster. For one, it is able to speak, outside of mimicking the voices.. and the screams, of its victims. It speaks as a prophet, telling those unfortunate enough to encounter it to "be not afraid", and regardless of if the victim listens or not, they are paralyzed with fear, with Phobos arriving shortly. No records of what happens after have been found, so as for what Phobos and Deimos do to the dragons unfortunate enough to encounter them.. we may never know.

While survivors of solely Phobos have been found, no survivors of Deimos and Phobos have ever been recorded. Many scholars assume that Deimos amplifies Phobos' power in some way, given that it never seems to attack directly. Whatever the case, should you encounter Deimos... A terrible fate awaits. 		xxxxxx
