- - - Zai is a relaxed and carefree Spiral. He’d stumbled across the island during one of his darkest days, and after years of being on the island and bonded to Bei, he’s been doing much better than he was before. As the Leader’s mate, like Bei, he’s also surprising as the leader, due to his nature.

- - - While he does like to travel occasionally, he’ll always avoid Wind Clan areas, and he’ll always come home to Bei and the island. Sometimes, he’ll accompany her to outside meetings, like taking in new hatchlings and dragons, as he’s a pretty decent fighter. He’s also in charge of noting down the workings of the clans they visit, just in case.

- - - Despite his nature, he acts as a ‘foil’ to Bei; keeping her restrained to not lose all of her hard work, and helping to find alternate solutions to the cruelties they see whenever they head outside the island. He also tries to make sure the dragons leaving to be exalted are taken care of, so nobody has to repeat the experiences he himself went through.
