Merle has been cold since the day he was born - even with a thick fluffy coat of hair. Because of his accursed Elemental Sight, he can only see in light and shadows, and has chronic cold feet. No matter what his mother did for him, he always felt the icy chill of the Icewarden's power within him. He donned sweaters, scarves, mittens and tail-cosies, but always felt the same. What would usually be considered to be a blessing from the gods felt more like a curse to him. Spite - and, perhaps, desperation - drove him to learn how to knit sweaters of his own, and through his passion he picked up many skills and discovered new materials and tricks to making softer and warmer garments.

Other dragons started to learn of his talents, and began to patron him for his triple-layered sweaters and frost-proof gloves, finding that they worked almost magically in their effectiveness. Dragons that wore his sweaters would never get cold, even traveling for days throughout the Southern Icefields, and those who used his gloves could scale cliffs without cracking scales and dive deep into frozen lakes without losing their claws to frostbite. Though it took Merle many years and many failed garments, after furious efforts to quell the icy flow inside him, he managed to soften the chill with the pelts of Auburn Woollies, seal manes, and additions of soft feathers for comfort. Though his claws still ache with familiar discomfort, he's found peace in just feeling a constant autumn breeze instead of a winter wind. 		Primary Pigment Blend
