~
Raised together with his sister at the Monastery of the Children of the Earthshaker, Doran had a calm and loving childhood. The only major gripe he had with the experience was the education. He adored learning about history, found it fascinating to consider that the drakes who came before him had their own lives, thoughts, worries, but he just had a hard time sitting still for that long inside. So, occasionally he would skip class, and occasionally he would run off to explore the hills of Dragonhome. These hills, such as they belong to the Earthshaker, keeper of memories, were full of bone fragments and rock impressions and pottery shards for a young drake to excavate and collect. His teachers, delighted by his interest in history, even if it generally involved escaping the monastery’s library, encouraged his fascination and recommended books on archaeology to him. Doran could finally put a name to what he wanted to do for the rest of his life, and he devoured the books with a passion.

As he matured, Doran and Eithne both itched to see more of the world, and so they set out to find a new place to learn and explore in. Doran still holds on to his dream of being an archaeologist, but entrance to the guild is no longer cheap, and while a child of the Monastery leaves with much wealth in knowledge and relationships, they don’t hold as much in coin. So in the meanwhile, he helps out Erin, Elise, and Tesni when they need him, and pockets every coin he can. When they don’t need him, he can be found roaming the hills and the cracked canyons of the Shattered Plain, exploring the lesser archaeological finds not yet claimed by the guild.

While Doran ventures on regular expeditions, Eithne is on the road nearly all the time, so they don’t see each other very often. Their bond with each other never wanes, however, and Eithne is always welcome in her brother’s home. When they’re together, his daily schedule settles into something a little more regular, and she feels more grounded. After Eithne decides it’s time to set out on her rambling route once more, she often plans with Doran to follow him out to a dig site before she bids him farewell, just so they can spend a few more days in each other’s company. 71485928p.png
