Canopus

Serious and stately, Canopus is an old member of the clan and something of a deputy leader, considering he often finds himself teaching young dragons the Clan's ways, or scolding them when they trespass them, while Matriarch Polaris dozes or doesn't notice a slight. If the peaceful clan were ever involved in battle, it is agreed that he would lead them, though he doubts that more than a handful of his clanmmates would know the back of a spear from the pointy end if it came to that.

It is not required of the dragons of Clan Mouse to pick a lifemate, indeed, few do, preferring to have nights of passion with their friends and then go back to friendship, but Canopus chose Porrima as his lifemate almost upon seeing her, and she him. They were drawn to each other with an understanding of self that did not fully evolve until they knew each other better, but everyone agrees that they are a fully fit pair, complimenting each other in every way. They are less in love and more of a full understanding of one another, like two halves of a whole.

He and Porrima are fiercely proud of their children, though some argue that this leads them to spoil them and expect little of them. This may be an erroneous argument, however, because nothing much is expected of ANY member of Clan Mouse but that they are kindly, peaceable, and content.
