Biography
3rd generation imperial
lore by prayer!
She blinked her eyes open and winced against the bright light. The dawn over the hills of Palimpsest was always blinding. Rolling onto her side, she looked at her siblings asleep nearby, then at her parents.
Dunya was awake, sharpening his favourite blade. His ears perked up when he heard his daughter shift, and he turned his head to look at her. “Little one,” he greeted softly, and stood from where he lay beside Lulani. “It is very early.”
She looked up at him, then at the sun shimmering over the hilltops. “Can’t sleep.”
Dunya hummed, lowering his head to nudge her with his snout. “Come,” he said softly. “You can hunt with me.”
----
Faro stared at the sun rising over the mountains. She often thought back to that morning with her father when she watched the dawn. His quiet patience, the warmth of his fur against hers when he’d let her clamber onto his back after growing tired. There were days when Faro wondered if she’d made the right choice in leaving. Where was her family now? She often heard of Lulani’s latest exploits from merchants, but never of Dunya, nor her siblings.
She shook her head, ears pinning back with irritation. She flicked her tail once, then spread her wings. She was a hunter, like her father before her, and her quarry lay in the valley below. She took a deep breath, and launched off the cliff, towards the rising sun.
