Morad of the Scarlet Incendium

Currently acting as the Clan's Scribe and Advisor, Morad has been a member of the Scarlet Incendium the longest, compared to other current members. He originated from a Clan of Arcane who's dragons mainly focused on Astrology as their topic of study. There he was tasked with recording the discoveries of his elder Clan-mates as they verbally made them, making him an excellent note-taker and a quick writer. Morad left when.. WIP

Nicknames & Titles: none Physique: Morad is likely both the smallest and scrawniest adult Imperial within his Clan. However, he also boasts the most impressive wingspan relative to his size, making him an excellent long-distance flyer. Speed, however, is not his forte as he lacks the strength necessary to beat his massive wings quickly for very long and mainly relies on bursts of surprising speed and gliding on the warm updrafts of the Ashfall Waste to get anywhere very fast. Magic: Morad is very magically gifted and has a great variety of magical abilities at his disposal. Fighting Style: When it comes to battle, despite his magical ability, Morad is an absolute coward and prefers to let others fight for him. However, when he realizes this is not an option, he uses his cowardly nature to his advantage - tricking his enemy into thinking he is not a threat and waiting for them to lower their guard before striking with a powerful blast of pure Arcane magic and fleeing while his enemies are stunned.

Personality: Morad has trouble getting along with others due to his abrasiveness and irritableness, preferring the company of his scrolls than that of other dragons. Despite this, he is a surprisingly good teacher and quite enjoys sharing knowledge with others. Interests: Like what is to be expected of an Arcane-born dragon, Morad is very interested in the pursuit of knowledge. Particularly, though, he feels properly recording anything of value can be just as, if not more so, important than discovering new things. His particular-ness about notetaking is the main reason he was appointed as the Clan's Scribe. He is also very interested in the study and manipulation of magic, likely making him one of the most magically knowledgeable dragons in the Clan.

Crimson Ion Ivy

While the two do not think of each other as friends, there is a certain respect, loyalty, and casual-ness held between the two of them, likely caused by Morad's supportive rank and the length of time both of them have been in their respective roles. As the Clan's Researcher, Ion and Morad were often required to discuss any and all of the former's discoveries. While they wouldn't consider each other close friends, the pair enjoyed and looked forward to their required meetings up until Ion went to go serve the Flamecaller. Ivy was Morad's only known friend, the young dragoness balancing out Morad's abrasiveness with endless amount of patience and kindness. Morad was rarely not at Ivy's side, causing many Clan members to suspect Morad of being in love with her, a statement he firmly denies to this day. After her death, Morad grew irritable and ignored any further attempts at friendship by his Clanmates, instead developing an interest in growing and strengthening his magical ability.

|| --/--/16 || A wealthy Clan of the Lighting Flight launched an attack on the Scarlet Incendium. Ivy, Sol, and Flashfreeze were later found deceased after the Scarlet Incendium drove the opposing Clan back. Several members were not accounted for and it is assumed that they had fled the battle.

|| 9/10/18 || Clan Leader Crimson has taken the opportunity to condense ranks and create new ones to be more effect in light of Clan need and a significant amount of Clan members leaving to go serve the Flamecaller.

|| 9/19/18 || It is not unusual for Magnus to return to the Clan from his alchemical work, sporting a new bit of cloth or other apparel and, before now, I have not thought it important enough to write down.. but today Magnus has returned with his claws glowing a bright blue - glowing! When questioned about this, Magnus simply stated that he had been experimenting with one of the Clan's Podids, trying to give its claws a "vibrant blue bioluminescence". What use Magnus thinks we would have for blue, glow-in-the-dark Podid claws I am not sure but, in any case, the mixture had apparently been "a tad bit more explosive than preferred" and splashed out of the cauldron, onto Magnus, was absorbed by his skin, and permanently stained the keratin of his claws. How it has not also stained his thick Tundra coat, I have no idea.
|| 10/11/18 || Clan Leader Crimson has granted Mage Icarus access to the caves leading to the Anomaly for researching purposes. Mage Icarus is only allowed access to them early in the mornings and for short intervals to ensure he is not missed.
|| 10/13/18 || One of our Clan's Forge-workers, Vega, has withdraw from our ranks. She declined to give us a reason why but, being Arcane-born, I believe she simply feels complacent and yearns for more to discover. She packed her things and left this morning.
|| 10/31/18 || Today the Guards found a very unusual hatchling on our territory; he has flames sprouting from his eyes! We've only ever heard of features like this from gossiping traders and hardly believed these rumors.
The Clan wonders where he came from. He's so young he doesn't look like he would have been able to walk from the nearest Clan to our territory by himself. Clan Leader Crimson has sent Guards to our closest neighbors to ask if they've had a hatchling or egg stolen as of late. The hatchling is being kept in the Nursery while we wait for a response. Poor Freya has had to practically stand guard at the entrance to keep Clan members from coming in and to allow the hatchling some peace. Icarus is completely fascinated by the hatchling and had to be warded off several times.
|| 11/1/18 || The Guards have all returned and have reported that none of our neighboring Clans of Fire have any missing eggs or hatchlings. Clan Leader Crimson has ordered word to be spread of this hatchling whenever any of us deal with traders and visitors in the hopes of reaching the hatchling's birth-Clan. Gamekeeper Venor has also suggested Fulgor be sent with a message to the Great Furnace to, perhaps, reach Clans with better, more advanced methods of communications. Clan Leader Crimson agreed to this and wrote a brief letter for Fulgor.
None of us are allowed to mention the hatchlings eyes. If rumors are to be believed, these hatchlings can grow to be very powerful and Crimson thinks it best that we don't advertise this least we attract unwanted attention.
|| 11/7/18 || Fulgor returned a few days ago and, still, there has been no claim to the hatchling. I am beginning to doubt that he has not come from the Scarlet Incendium without the general Clan's knowledge. In any case, Crimson has decided to name him NAME HERE and make him an official member, at least until someone lays claim to him.
In other news, we also have another new Clan member today, a young Skydancer of Light named Umbra. She has been appointed to the position of Forge-Worker.
|| 11/8/18 || It seems our efforts to keep young NAME's gift a secret have for naught as our Guards have been able to find signs of scouting parties from several different Clans just outside our borders while on patrol. Seeing as neighboring Clans have paid us no mind before now, I think it's safe to assume that it is the hatchling that had sparked their interest. Commander Riptide shares my belief but has not ruled out the possibility of the Anomaly becoming known.
Speaking of which, NAME appears to be quite sensitive to the Anomaly's precense. Freya has reported that he refuses to set a single talon in the Vault for his lessons with Abraxa which forces her to have to leave the Vault to teach him of the basics of trade within the Nursery instead. Crimson has ordered Icarus stand guard over the Vault during these times which may only seem as a minor inconvenience but that is not where the young hatchling's problems end. He seems to have a great fear of the dark, more so than the average hatchling, and claims to see "a too dark shadow" coming to "take [his] fire". Of course, Freya nor anyone else has ever seen anything like this and, with the Clan on edge about the scouting parties, it is highly likely that this fear has spawned from simply overhearing conversations on the matter but the possibility still remains that, with his unique condition, NAME may possibly be able to not only feel but also see the presence of the Anomaly on our land.
