Grillby is known as the local bartender within the Viridian Labyrinth. A lengthy Imperial with fiery colors of red, orange, and gold, he doesn't seem to like to talk much. If he does, it is worth listening to. Originating from the Wind Flight, his parents were fiery in nature, so it was no surprise Grillby had an affinity to fire as well. Despite how quiet he is, he is known for his kindness and diligence. He will take in hatchlings from the cold and no one leaves his bar hungry. Don't mistake his kindness for weakness. Grillby is quite a formidable foe when he needs to defend his home and family or those who are too weak to fight. Just remember, if you open a tab at his bar, please pay it or you will earn his ire.

Grillby has always been known to be the silent type, never speaking most of the time save for a few words or if he really had something to say. When he did speak, others would listen. On a typical day, working at his establishment, he listens to the dragons that come, like most bartenders do. He keeps his past a secret, though a select few have heard his tale.

In his younger years, he was peaceful until war broke out between his former clan and another rival clan. The battle was bloody and he showed an immense amount of ferocity. His mate at the time was killed, but their daughter, Fuku, survived. Taking his daughter, they found a new clan to call home for a brief time in the Underground. For years, they lived there and he even opened a bar down there too. It wasn't until Frisk came along and broke the barrier a rival clan had set there that he returned to the surface.

Staying in Arcane's Starfall Isles for a bit, he met Obsidiana. Loud, obnoxious, a real firecracker. She brought excitement to his life as well as Fuku's. The two grew close, especially when her temper flared, he was able to keep her calm. When clans in the isles got hostile, Grillby moved with his new family to the Viridian Labyrinth. Once he settled into this new territory, he set up shop and continues to run the bar with his family helping out.
