Corvus
warrior | formidable | egotistical | charismatic

mate: N/A | PAIR RANGE

For many years, Corvus wandered the Scarred Wasteland. Without a clan or home, he was vulnerable to the elements. Infections ran through his body, making him a walking contagion, but rather than weaken Corvus, it enhanced him. With his breath, he was able to command the poison that coursed through his veins and conquer the Scarred Wasteland.

From clan to clan, he traveled, boasting his dominion over the dangerous plague magic. Thus earned him the admiration and envy of many a dragon. Any clan would welcome him and his abilities, but he never stayed long, staying only for a meal before seeking out the praise of a new clan.

Had he not met Tarsal, he likely would have continued on this road.

Corvus seldom traveled with companions, but Tarsal was a fellow warrior and plague dragon who happened to be going the same way. He also proved capable enough to keep up with Corvus in battle and they made a formidable team.

However, despite their abilities in battle, their personalities could not differ more. While Corvus was loud and arrogant, Tarsal was somber and quiet. At camp, he spoke of his wish for a clan to call his home and admitted that he never felt like he belonged anywhere.

Initially Corvus scoffed. To stay in one clan would be to stagnate. He did not need any dragon or clan to be happy.

But Tarsal challenged him. If Corvus were truly happy, why did he seek out the praise of other dragons?

Corvus fell silent. Tarsal's words hung heavily and he realized how fleeting the glory he sought was, forcing him to wander endlessly. He pondered Tarsal's wish for a clan and wondered what it'd be like to have a home, dragons that appreciated him outside his feats. He could not say for sure whether that would make him happy, but he promised that the next clan he encountered, he would stay until he knew.

He and Tarsal continued through the Abiding Boneyard when they encountered a speckled pink mirror: Hibiscus.

Thinking her lost, Corvus offered her protection, but Hibiscus laughed. For she was a fierce warrior herself and challenged Corvus and Tarsal to keep up with her.

They accepted and the three of them slayed many a beast that day. At camp, Hibiscus explained that she came from a small clan and she was their lone warrior. She had ventured outside the borders to find fellow warriors who can help defend her clan and asked if Corvus and Tarsal would answer her call. If they would help her defend her clan, they would be given food, shelter, and companionship.

Corvus and Tarsal readily accepted and followed Hibiscus to her clan.

Few dragons dwelt within the borders, but they welcomed Corvus and Tarsal warmly, even without seeing Corvus's ability.

Touched by their sincerity, Corvus took to defending the borders so that the small clan could sleep peacefully.

In return, they accepted Corvus readily. They marveled at his magic abilities, but also enjoyed his conversation, and welcomed him to dine alongside him. For the first time in his life, Corvus did not feel the urge to wander, content with the praise of his new clan.

Eventually, Tarsal departed for a new clan, but Corvus remained, acting as one of its fiercest protectors. There, he teaches dragons to channel their breath and conjure magic to protect themselves and their loved ones.

Now Corvus stands with pride, not from his ability, but for the clan that accepted him so readily and made him family.
