xxx When hatched to an ancient Clan of unaging warriors who are magically bound to only really care for those carrying the same bond, it's easy to feel stifled or out of place.

Though her parents did their best to make her feel loved and accepted, and attempted to find her a role in the Clan, this young Effluvial rejected that bond and decided to find another clan to call home.

One that won't demand her soul as payment for granting her a home.

Her soul was worth more than a home. That was all Sanctum had learned from the Outpost before heading on her way to kinder lands and further pastures. The young jackdaw knew she’d make it out in the world, but had never imagined that life would turn out quite as well as it had for her. Ingen was a blessing found on the path through the Tangled Wood, and a partner after they survived their fair share of scrapes and scraps in the Abiding Boneyard.
They’d gone through it all together, and Sanctum was none the wiser for all the strangers who stared at them. She’d never truly had a home outside of Ingen, let alone one that would teach her not to get along with eboncrows. None of the strangers were brave enough to speak out, either. Even if she had known, Ingen was all Sanctum had ever needed in the end – someone who gave, rather than took. Everything shared between them, including a life together in their new home in the Moonseekers’ Islands.
