Acario is the head information gatherer and advises the council and clan leaders on the goings on in the clan and in the rest of the world.

Early Years

.....Acario was born under prosperous circumstances. His parents, Aun and Iniko, had just staked a claim in the fertile Driftwood Drag, and were looking to start a clan of their own. A rare five egg nest to start their new family was certainly a sign of the good fortune to come. Or so they thought.
.....In reality, five young mouths was a lot to feed for a clan just starting out. Acario's early years were not difficult exactly, but were rather hectic. He remembers days filled with what he later realized were chores and foraging expeditions, but at the time had been cleverly disguised as games by his parents. They were good parents, if a little in over their heads.
.....As he and his siblings reached adolescence, they began to realize how much of a strain they were placing on their clan. They'd grown too large too quickly, and as such were stuck in a state of stagnation. They could grow no bigger, as they were using resources as fast as they could get them. Three of his siblings left for foreign lands, or found themselves called to serve the deities. With just him and his sister Opal remaining, the clan was a more manageable size, and began to prosper.

A Tale of Two Siblings

.....Acario was content with the life he had, working under his parents' rule to help their relatively simple clan succeed. His sister had greater ambitions. She dreamed of power and glory, and began doing everything she could to achieve those goals. Though Acario did not share her passion, he did care for her, and vowed to assist her however he could.
.....Together, they traded, bartered, and swindled until they acquired scrolls and stones imbued with powerful magics. Opal swapped her small fae form for that of a pearlcatcher, which she deemed the perfect balance of strength and magic. She became an accomplished combatant, and convinced their parents to hand control of the clan over to her when they were ready to retire. Under her leadership the clan moved to an encampment just on the plague side of the border, and Gribble Hollow truly came into being.
.....Opal was not a kind leader, but she was smart and got results. So when a traveler came upon their clan and told tales of his own clan's strength, Opal saw the tactical advantage to be gained in an alliance. The siblings worked out a plan, a swap in the children of the clans' progenitors was arranged, and Acario officially left his birth clan to join The Clan at Rook's Landing. He became their informant, and was given a seat on the clan's advisory council. Mindfang, the female mirror who took his place, left Gribble Hollow to fight for the deities soon after he had cemented his place at Rook's Landing. Though she insisted it was her decision, Acario knows just how persuasive his sister can be.
.....Welcome to visit his sister often as the liaison to Gribble Hollow, and with a position that granted him the comfortable life he enjoys so much, Acario couldn't be happier with how their plan turned out.

A Twist in the Tale

.....Things were prosperous for a while. Both clans were flourishing and Acario had built a luxurious life for himself. But one day while visiting Gribble Hollow, he noticed the beginnings of unrest, and subsequent visits saw a steady escalation. The clan had always had high turnover in new members, but even older members were leaving now. When he arrived one day to find Fusion (one of the only dragons who could calm Opal) and Lapis (the only child Opal had ever shown any real care towards) gone, Acario knew something serious was brewing.
.....He began conducting his own investigation, and what he discovered was a plot to overthrow his sister. Vaille, a powerful charismatic warrior, was being groomed to take her place. He immediately informed Opal, and urged her to act. For a time, he worried she hadn't heeded his advice. Then Opal announced a restructuring, granting advisory positions and head representatives of each flight. She shrewdly assigned these positions to key pieces in the planned coup. Opal assigned herself as head of the Shadow Consul, and hinted she would step down as leader of Gribble Hollow when a suitable replacement was found and trained. The move derailed the stirrings of an uprising, as those who had simply wanted power had been granted it, while those who wanted a new leader had been promised one in the future. Acario believed all was well, and for a while, they were.
.....Then came the day he made the journey to Gribble Hollow, and found nothing but dense, impenetrable fog. No matter how far he traveled, he always found himself back where he started. Even enlisting the help of a Gloomwillow Guide could get him no deeper into the mist, though he swore he saw the shapes of dragons, still as statues, before the fog shifted and the path was lost. None of the dragons from Gribble Hollow have been seen since, and no one knows exactly what happened to them. But Acario has his suspicions.
.....He knows Opal lives for power, and he knows unrest with clan leaders has a bad habit of popping up again and again. He also knows something that is secret to everyone but Opal herself: when she breedchanged and built her pearl, she used a haunted stone orb artifact as the base. She’d always had powerful shadow magic, and Acario believes that the power hidden in that orb may have allowed her to perform some truly terrifying feats. So as to the fate of Gribble Hollow? His best guess is that if Opal couldn’t have it, she made sure no one could.
