Xazus

Once upon a time, oh so long ago
Begun the tale of a hatchling, and a tragedy at the show
As she watched from the audience it soon would come to pass
She was loving her very first show, unaware it was her last.

The director called for volunteer, she stood for all to see
And took her place inside the box, secured with lock and key.
The dragon rose to show a blade that in the light did gleam
But something had gone horrible wrong, told from the splitting scream.

Help rushed the stage but by then it was too late.
The cruel director had sealed the young ones fate.
The crowd full of anger, used the rings to build a pyre
To end the monster before them, but soon the tent caught fire

By morning there was nothing left, no one to tell the tale
Nothing left but quiet and ash, and a tiny skeleton so pale
The event was marked a tragedy, and no one knew the truth
There were only legends, the tale of ended youth

But when the seasons are at there calmest
When days and nights are the longest
A grand tent, in nowhere stands
Promising you a show so grand

The hatchling is now at the healm
The show is taken as her realm
With preformences so bold and grand
Surely the best throughout the land.
