Stormwing NURSERY GUARDIAN – LOYAL | PROTECTOR | CARING |

At first glance, Stormwing is a rather intimidating figure. Brooding and--apparently--inherently cross, it may come as a surprise to see this no-nonsense coatl tending to a brood of hatchlings. Despite said initial reaction, it is clear to those who chance an encounter that Stormwing is perfect for the job. His aggressive, unapproachable demeanor is replaced by a kindhearted, patient caretaker who is fiercely protective of his little charges. While not originally from the ice-capped mountains of Pendragon's home, Stormwing took up the job as Guardian with little complaint. He shares the task with Volts; a lively she-coatl whose strong maternal instincts with a tendency to mother-hen any younglings/hatchlings, Volts handles much of the feeding and grooming of the little ones (though Stormwing helps from time to time when not busy watching over). At first the two didn't quite see eye-to-eye, but in time built a mutual trust and respect. Stormwing's gentle nature with the little ones is in part what attracted his eventual mate, Snips. Much like how it began with Volts, a mutual trust was established, the two seen in each other's company at an increasing rate. It's hard to ignore the fact that they absolutely adore each other, some of the younglings despairing over the occasional PDA. Stormwing finds it amusing to see their reactions, to be honest. Neither he nor his mate have had easy beginnings. In fact it proved to be a bit of a disability; Stormwing couldn't believe that someone would truly love him. And yet here was this little coatl, beaten down and scarred, showing no fear when approaching him. He knew that whenever she would shower him in affection it was for him alone; very rarely did she ever express her love for him so obviously in the company of others. And that made what they had...special. Just for them. |
