Persistently Curious!

Goldfinch is a stark contrast to his partner, Starling. Where she's hushed & potentially broody, Finch is excitable & constantly explorative. He'll stop at next to nothing if it means he gets to learn something new.

Finch has been running around & doing nothing but learning for his entire life... Or, at least that's how he remembers it. He's sure he had parents, offspring in a past life maybe, but he doesn't care to search—he has everything he needs right here, in this life, & has no interest in old familial ties.

He drags Starling across the lengths of Sornieth, constantly searching for something new & interesting. He adores all the knowledge he can find, but he often fails to write it down—a trait of his that makes him feel pretty dejected. But that's what Starling is here for! His lovely, perfect mate, who follows him wherever he goes.

Sometimes he feels like he's making Starling do too much. On rainy days where there's not much to do, Finch often gets emotional, trying to find ways to repay the favors Star has done for him, but she always reassures him that she doesn't mind—he shows his appreciation in his own ways, she says.
