A former formidable and feared Ember Knight of Tauricus, Zerelius Astorne willingly exiled himself to attempt to atone for the innocent blood upon his hands. Most if not all of his fellow knights and friends had been slain in the devastating but short-lived civil war that had erupted between King Balthazar and his son, the crown prince Tyverion. The consequences of his chosen allegiance to the old king had been cataclysmic. He was one of the last that stood beside King Balthazar until his dying breath and now, he was a wanderer with a tarnished soul that possessed no purpose, his once blazing pride and all he had known reduced to ashes and scattered to the winds. He was a mockery of the warrior he used to be, broken and changed, and fated to be forgotten, along with his family name.

Tauricus was no longer his home, destined to be a memory to burden him for the rest of his life, yet while he still breathed he knew he still had the strength to save lives. Zerelius had long shed his gleaming armour for leathers and a crossbow, trading his priceless, one-of-a-kind blade for an old, but reliable, steel sword. An exceptionally skilled healer, the lone warrior travels from place to place and never settles down for too long, aiding the injured and sick with his self-made remedies and defending the weak from monsters and dragon-kind alike.

His harsh and brutal world views are stark in contrast to his endless displays of compassion. He is both the healer and the hunter; merciless to those who seek to endanger the ones under his protection, yet able to mend the most grievous wounds with scarred, rough hands that have killed and will kill again. Undeniably controversial but caring little for the approval of others, his gruff and unapproachable demaneour would indicate a dangerous temper. It is the furthest from the truth. He is collected under pressure, dauntless in the face of adversity, and wholly ready to both save and take lives with no unnecessary qualms.

After a decade of travelling, he had finally realized where he truly belonged... nowhere and everywhere at once. His reputation as the lone wolf of the firelands preceeds him, feared by those that would do harm to innocents that live beyond the protection of city walls, and respected by some that believe his selfless deeds ultimately outweigh the unresolved ferocity that still churns like molten magma within the darkest recesses of his heart.
