Biography
shares a motherly love to Biezer
she/her
old loving lady who raises bees and cultivates honey
she often gifts Biezer some of the honey she makes so the new familiars get a sweet treat
the beekeepers gain insect resources for the clan. However, they do so by domesticating the docile bees of the land. This process allows clan crops and flowers to be pollinated year-round. Honey is also created by these insects.
Overview:
A subspecies of Wildclaw originating from the Wispwillow Grove. While these dragons do not typically remain in their Shadow domain; Instead preferring domains such as Nature, Plague, Earth and Arcane. Although these domains are heavily preferred by the Honeycutters, they have dispersed themselves across all of Sornieth.
Unlike their cousins Honeycutter's have developed the astounding ability to eat both meat and plant life. Typically Honeycutter clans will choose to consume plant life over meat. It is a rare occurrence to see a Honeycutter clan live off of meat.
Clan life:
Honeycutter's typically live within groups of their own family. Their clans consists of a breeding pair that also doubles as the clans leaders, and their children who act as the workers. The breeding pair direct their children into completing goals and overall expanding and defending their territory. While mainly harmless these dragons chose to partake in trade and even welcome travelers into their home, sometimes allowing a select few to live among them.
The breeding pair can be challenged by any of their children. If the challenger is defeated and lives they are to immediately leave the clan. However, if the challenger succeeds the breeding pair will step down and continue to live amongst the clan.
Very rarely does a Honeycutter leave it's family clan. Upon leaving they may choose to begin one of their own Honeycutter family, or join a mixed clan. Typically when joining a mixed clan a Honeycutter will look for well structured clans with a strong leader and clear goal in mind.
Characteristics:
Honeycutter's appear to have more energy than their cousin the Wildclaw. They are able to cover more distance and their stamina almost appears to have no limit. With this limitless energy Honeycutter's need lots of enrichment. Often when a Honeycutter joins a mixed clan they will carry with them a device they can fiddle with while they are standing idle. Whereas in a Honeycutter clan they will always have a goal to achieve.
Breeding Behavior:
Only the breeding pairs in any Honeycutter clan are permitted to produce offspring. Rarely does it happen in which a dragon other than the breeding pair produces eggs. In situations such as these the breeding pair may choose either to kick the offending dragon out of their clan and raise the eggs as their own, destroy the eggs and allow the family member to remain, kick both the offending member and eggs out of the clan, or destroy both the offending member and the eggs.
Honeycutter's can produce up to 20 eggs in a year, typically producing 3-6 eggs per nest. As for the nests of their choice, Honeycutter's will prepare a nest spun with that regions organic material. They make their nests in the center of their clans residence and create twisting and confusing channels to hide their eggs within. Once the outline of the nest is complete the entire clan will begin pouring their magic into the walls, hardening it. They take great care to ensure no light can seep into the nest as well. This nesting behavior is believed to mimic the Shadow domain. (As previously stated the Honeycutter's point of origin).
Once the eggs have hatched they will spend their first few months with their parents before being assigned to a family member. The family member is entrusted with developing the hatchlings vocabulary, flying skills and battle skills. As soon as they have perfected those abilities they are then given a role within the clan. Usually roles are assigned based on physical appearance. Example: A larger Honeycutter would become a warrior or defender, whereas a smaller Honeycutter would become a forager or craftsmen.
Battle:
When the time for battle comes these dragons have developed a special communication amongst themselves. While engaged in combat they have developed a hand symbol communication system, allowing them to strategize on the fly. Thus, giving them a direct advantage over unsuspecting foes.
Honeycutter's often choose to surround their victims and close in on them from there. Cutting off any chance of escape while also limiting their opponents movements. Once the enemy is enclosed and escape is no longer an option the Honeycutter's will strike together delivering a devastating blow.
