Frosted Banshee

B I O G R A P H Y

Many call Margaux a Frosted Banshee, mainly because they have a tendancy to appear on dragon’s deathbeds; sometimes even making shrill cracking noises similar to both the screech of a banshee and the sharp crackle of ice. No one exactly knows why, though many have theories, some telling of an eerie connection between vast ice sheets and the spiral. The only thing that remains permanently consistent between the tales told of Margaux is that they’re a frosty, ghost-like spiral with snowy eyes and a silent, eerie nature.

Not much is known about Margaux, only really the things mentioned above, but they’ve become such a legend among both hatchlings and dragons alike that many a fictional fact has been added to their story. As mentioned before, the most popular among them tells of a connection between the vast tundra and Margaux.

O R I G I N S

Margaux started life as you’d expect; abandoned, in a snowy wasteland. Soon after their hatching, they went blind due to a heavy snowstorm. This same snowstorm also managed to bury them in a large snowdrift, as Margaux was not old nor experienced enough to really move at all. So, as they lay there, buried in snow, nearly starved to death, something shifted deep inside of them. Their eyes snapped open; now identical to the snow that smothered them. Instead of inky blackness as they had become accustomed to, they saw a sparkling, vast field of snow. Still not able to move, they sat still, eventually slipping into a deep sleep.

During this heavy slumber, their body slowly began to change. The frost seeped into their skin, turning the dark, rich magenta stars that had covered their body to an inky metallic colour reminiscent of the depths in the frigid arctic oceans. All except their belly- which gained a frosty white and a border of red, the only remaining trace of their previous colours. Some even rumour that the more deaths the spiral watches over, the redder their belly becomes, like blood slowly saturating the crystals of freshly fallen snow.
