B I O G R A P H Y

The strange thing about Aur is that no dragon in the clan has ever actually seen him. They've seen a large, intricately-carved golden Obelisk statue with bright jade eyes inside of the Galestrom bank and have been told to tell it what they want to be done and that their requests will be fulfilled by the next day, but no one other than the clan leader Archeus has seen Aur himself out of statue form. Heck, no one's even sure if this 'Aur' even exists at all and the statue really is just a statue. Archeus continues to assure everyone that Aur does indeed tend to all their accounts and whatnot when no one's around, but that just makes them a touch nervous that someone could be messing with their savings without their knowing.

A few dazzled hatchlings around the clan have found that the golden statue at the Galestrom Bank doesn't just flawlessly tend to their parent's accounts, but he's also capable of granting wishes. They leave little gifts of money- nothing much, just a few pieces of treasure or so- with a note explaining their wish, and almost without fail their wish comes true. They also believe that rubbing his front paws or giving him a hug to say thank you after your wish has been granted gives you good luck.

B I O G R A P H Y

The real truth about Aur is simply that he's unbelievably shy, only coming out of his statue form during the night after everyone's gone home and taking care of the list of requests he accumulated during the day. Sometimes it takes him all night to get through the list; fulfilling deposits, writing up account stats and delivering them, authorizing documents, processing loans, and getting everything ready for his teller for tomorrow. Other times the list is short enough that he finishes his jobs quickly and decides to take a walk around town. Aur loves it when hatchlings make wishes, as he loves seeing their happy faces and the occasional pats and hugs they give him during the day after their wishes come true. After his list of wishes began outgrowing his request list, Aur enlisted the help of the local 'delivery god' Yato, offering him payment for whatever wishes Aur couldn't do himself.

The first wish a hatchling made was something more like a silent request. Aur overheard a hatchling playing with her doll at his feet ask the doll if they should make a new friend since that would make it a lot less boring waiting for her dad to finish his work. Seeing that the hatchling had looked up to gaze at the large golden statue she was playing by, Aur shifted his coat subtly and caused it to shine. The awed hatchling smiled and bounded back over to her dad who had finished with the teller and was about to leave. Going over the father's request that night, he noticed that they'd be back the next day to finish notarizing papers. So, after quickly finishing the luckily small number of other things he had to do, got to work on making that hatchling a new friend. The next day, sure enough, the little hatchling came in with her dad. When she went over to Aur to play with her doll, she noticed Aur's front feet sitting a little differently than before; protecting something sitting under him. Aur slowly shifted to allow the hatchling to grab the hand-made peach and yellow plushie. Her eyes lit up as she read the note tied around its' neck; 'Looking for a new friend'. She squeezed her new friend tightly and looked up at Aur, "Thank you Mr. Sparkles!" She pet his front paw and made the little pink plushie give his hand a hug before bounding back over to her dad to show him what she had been given.
