Foreign-born and plagued with illness, Alaura and her brother Maelor still remain loyal to what they've heard are their heritage lands, but fear of spreading a blood epidemic brings her to the Academy to begin her strenuous studies for a cure. A study leading her to the mysteries of the local fables, ancient to the grounds themselves. And perhaps, to unlocking a secret about her parents' origins.
