Diodorus

Diodorus is a self-proclaimed philosopher, pondering on the nature of the world day in and day out. He has for years, sitting unmoving in his den, lost in thought, surrounded by empty scrolls with which, years ago, he proclaimed he would write down the secrets of the universe into. The other dragons used to bring him food in hopes he would eat it, but they gave that up long ago. Now, they just avoid him, the younger dragons staring before being told not to be rude. ....the stone and crystal has begun to grow around him, turning him, year by year, into an unmoving statue. The flowers once growing on his horns wilted long ago, yet still he sits, breathing still. what is keeping him alive, the ruder dragons whisper to each other. Is it simply will, simply the power of the knowledge he holds?
