Chamomile is a calm, relaxed child, preferring nestling in with a book than rolling in the dirt. He's perpetually sleepy, sometimes sneaking away to nap in increasingly improbable spots, but he's always wide awake and attentive for lessons. Though his parents have taught him plant names almost since birth, he struggles to remember and gets anxious if asked to fetch something from the garden, the memory of poison ivy's itch too fresh in his mind.

Cham is a sweet boy, but very clever, and very good at social situations. His brother, Burdock, often starts arguments with the critters in the woods, and it's up to Cham to get them to back down. Cham has quite a few good friends in those creatures. They keep an eye on him and (begrudingly) Burr on foraging trips, they come to him for help with their minor wounds, they bring him gifts in the form of stray coins, shiny stones, or the occasional bone. Cham has a box in his room with all of these treasures.

Cham will likely take over after his mother when he grows up. He has an awful black thumb and no memory for mushrooms, but even so young, he can whip up luck potions or sleep tonics in no time flat. He loves helping his mother organize the shelves and cabinets of little glass bottles in their shop.
