Persephone revels in misery. She engineers it on her own, and nothing is truly wrong except for the pathology that motivates her behavior. If anything, she lives a charmed life, permitted to stay with the clan despite contributing naught but a few gaudy decorations. Without the attention melodrama manufactures, she experiences genuine melancholy, and must stir up fresh drama to dispel it.
Persephone goes through mates like no tomorrow. Her current suitor thinks he's capable of taming her, but better drakes have tried. She would be a decent actress if she could play any role but the victim.
She refers to herself as a hothouse rose.

“It does nothing for me. It doesn't lift the weight that crushes me- but the weight is still not enough to kill me! Until it grows enough to pop my lungs I will remain, anguished, recording the pain experienced by I and the rest of this pitiful world. Someone must bear witness. Someone must carry the memory.”
