 Oratorio was born and raised in the Haven. He watched his mother succumb to plague, and his father turn to the solace of The Deep with vague disinterest. The young bogsneak was always too busy tinkering in his forge. His fascination with fire started as a fascination with the whorls of smoke that emerged from the ground. He followed his nose to the source of that smoke, an ancient temple half-buried in the sedge. He squeezed through the submerged doorway and into the dusty cavern. The source of the smoke was a stick of incense, held aloft on a dais and sending tendrils of orange fumes floating through ducts to suffuse the entire complex. The air was heavy with the scent.

 He investigated the temple further, finding a forge that seemed almost to be made for him. Ancient diagrams and blueprints provided a guide, the smoke swirling around his claws and urging him onward while he worked. As he became a part of the forge, the forge became a part of him, filling his body with fire and metal. His every breath exhales orange smoke. His every movement stinks of that ever-burning incense. Oratorio is the First Priest of this ancient temple of Smoke in many, many years.
