Once an Imperial just like any other, Keppler now walks the tide between worlds, neither here nor there, with no distinct memory of the time when his wings were more than starlight, or when his talons felt the earth beneath his feet each day. The scholars and mystics of Murkwater theorize that he is an embodiment of a belief or ideal, an amalgamation of the hopes and dreams of others, personified in the spirit of an unsuspecting Imperial that was never properly laid to rest.
He is able to leave the sky only at night, to accompany others as an ethereal ghost outlined by shimmering stars and swirls of galaxy, with varying degrees of tangibility. When daybreak comes he dissipates, existing only as a faint whisper in the back of one's mind. |

Keppler holds an incredible fondness for a Guardian named Rook. He spent many nights listening to her speak to the stars and confide her secrets, though for the longest time he never answered. There was a sense of familiarity and comfort that she brought him, a shared loneliness that made him feel less alone, a yearning for closeness than inspired him to leave the sky and walk the earth with her. She was never anything but accepting of him, and over time he began to feel less like a ghost, and more like a dragon. Children bore between them are destined for greatness, and whether they know it or not, Keppler often visits them on clear nights, protecting and granting the wishes of their hearts. |
