Biography
Mother to all those who have need of one, head teacher at the Academy and the most versatile magic user seen in an age, Kinlara is a name known far and wide. Though she was born under the Plaguebringer's influence, she found she was not suited to the culture around her. She wandered far and wide looking to find a place she called home, yet she kept feeling called to the Shadowbinder's domain. There underneath the gloom she met Swordsinger, a surprisingly vicious fighter for a Nocturne, and the two have rarely been far apart since.
They came across old ruins deep in the Tangled woods, that were made of a stone that sang with magic to Kinlara's senses. The ruins stretched across acres of land, the landscape dotted with houses and towers some of them being in better shape than others. In the center of those ruins was a huge castle with the largest towers they'd seen by far. It is there that they decided to make their lair, and there they found they felt like they were finally home.
While on her latest yearly trip to the Emberglow Hearth, to see her ancestral home and soothe the Flamecaller's pull, she encountered 2 hatchlings of a species long thought to have gone extinct ages ago. They were scratched and sick looking, sleeping messily in a pile behind a rock. And she knew she needed to help them. She convinced them to come home with her deep in the Shadowbinder's territory, though not much convincing was needed when she shared her food with them. Once she returned to her lair, she introduced her children to their new siblings.
When she told them that there were more hatchlings out there who needed help, her children took up packs of their own and went off to travel and find as many Banescale hatchlings as they could, so their tragedy could never be repeated.
