It was harrowing to hear it; she had done it for years and hadn't heard a single thing like it. She was from the flight who would most likely have it happen to her, but she had grown with the assumed knowledge that it wasn't possible, and never thought more about it until it happened. She's a gardener, and tending to the flora is her main task, one that she remained with even after it happened.
For a differing reason, however.


They're impossible to ignore now. They were so quiet if they were ever there, but now, I can't even take a step without knowing I've crushed a voice; crumped the tiniest plant by the movement of my tail; possibly even killed just a blossom while I slept. They cry out in pain, lamenting what hurts, calling to be healed and fixed. I want to help them; I want to heal them; I want their somber voices to cease their wailing.
