Biography

”Come on, come on! My daisies bloomed! I’ll weave you a flower crown!”

Candy is my Custom Progenitor.

Candy has known Shadow for years, since he stays by her at all times and his charge is to protect her. Candy met Shadow one day when she lived in a small cabin in the center of a forest clearing. She was watering the flowers she was growing, mostly daisies and a few assorted wildflowers she found in the forest and regrew. Suddenly, she saw a giant shadow coming over her house and garden, and she froze in fear. She was worried a large creature or dragon had come to attack her, or worse, eat her. When she looked up, however, all she saw was a dark Guardian flying extremely high up. She watched the strange Guardian speed up and dive into the forest.

For the next few days, she was acutely aware of something watching her. She spent more time indoors to hide from whatever was watching her. Her wildflowers bloomed during those few days, and so she went into the forest back where she found them first to collect more seeds. On the way to the flowers, she heard some strange sounds in the forest, almost like a dragon walking behind her. She paused mid-step in a small clearing and listened, and she heard even more footsteps, in every direction. She heard a crack right behind her and spun around to a large Pearlcatcher in concealing garb run at her. Then many more quick steps around her as more dragons in dark concealing garb ran for her. She thought they were going to attack her when all of a sudden a blur of black, brown, and green skillfully dived in front of her. It was a large, dark Guardian. The Guardian then curled its tail around her in a defensive stance and started scratching and biting the Pearlcatcher. The Guardian then swiped at and bit the other dragons, eventually scaring them away into the forest. He then let Candy free from his tail and quickly put his face close to her looked her over for any injury. Candy was extremely surprised and quickly jumped back, thinking the Guardian was eyeing her up to see if it should steal from her instead. The Guardian then pulled his head back up and sat down to make it easier for Candy to look at him. She stayed silent for a long moment, and then quietly thanked him. He told her his charge was to protect her and stay with her, and when she asked about him being the dragon she had seen a few days ago, he had confirmed it and explained he was keeping an eye on her when she spotted him, and he hid.

They spoke for a short while, and Candy quickly warmed up to him. She offered to let him stay with her so that he can protect her and have a nicer place to sleep than on the forest floor. They soon became close friends living together and they worked together to expand Candy’s house so that Shadow could live comfortably inside, and Candy expanded her garden to grow fruits, vegetables, and herbs for Shadow. Since she only ate bugs, she would eat the insects that wandered her garden on her flowers and crops, and Shadow would eat the food she grew plus go into the forest to scavenge and hunt for more. Shadow was amazing at taking care of animals but they never had enough space to have even a small ranch for very long.

One day, a few years after they met, they decided to start a clan together. They packed up their little belongings and flew out of the forest, and decided on a large, open field quite far from the forest they had lived in. Their clan quickly grew, but they were happy living together. Their lives were now much busier with having to manage so many dragons, hatchlings, familiars, and a very large farm and gardens. Candy chose to continue her passion of growing flowers, and Shadow did his best to help her, even if everything he grew ended up dying. Candy was always upbeat and encouraging when Shadow grew flowers, and would occasionally sneak out at night to go to his flowers and try to take care of them, even if it never worked to save his plants. Shadow always followed Candy around everywhere she went, and if anything bothered her or slightly harmed her, he would go on full alert and try to fix the issue.

Now, Candy and Shadow are treated like royalty in the clan, although Candy always stays humble and treats the new dragons she meets and every dragon in the clan like a friend. She often is accompanied by her friend Cadi, a priestess of sorts. Even if Cadi can’t understand Candy week, they still talk as best they can and often walk the gardens together, with Shadow behind as a sort of bodyguard.

Candy’s favorite memory is growing a full garden of daisies, her favorite flowers, with her team of gardeners, preparing a gift for Shadow. When the daisies bloomed, she picked many of the best looking flowers and weaved herself a set of wing garlands and a flower crown. While she was making these, Shadow went back to their house to take a short nap, and Candy began making another piece of apparel. When the 3 daisy outfit pieces were complete, Candy put the first two on herself, as they were make to fit her, and the last, much larger one was put into a large white box, nearly the size of Candy, and sat next to her bed, waiting for Shadow to wake up. When he did, she gave him the box and told him to open it, and when he saw the large daisy corsage, in the perfect size for his wrist, he immediately put it on and Candy has noticed he has never taken it off, and he treats it like pure gold.
