A hard worker with the intent to work himself to death.

Wildfyre's attitude runs as hot as his permanent fever, a rolling sickness that has plagued him since his hatching. The hum of heat rolling off of his forehead is evident to anyone who stands near him, inspiring sweat from the sheer awe of his artistic work, his intense disposition, and personal climate alike. This coatl's frequent mild sickness has certainly had little effect on the speed at which he pumps out work, making him one of "Mother's Cough"'s most prolific and recognizable founding members. He is quick to remind any that will listen that he is one of ten of its original members, his haughtiness and joy one and the same. Wildfyre takes a great deal of pride in his position within the artisan organization, which exists to prove Plague's artistic merit to the larger Sornieth arts circuit. Plague is too often dismissed as a cultural deadspot, but the work of Wildfyre and company under MC is slowly challenging this assumption, one creative endeavour at a time - or, when it comes to Wildfyre, forty creative endeavours at a time.

Wildfyre can be considered a jack-of-all-trades when it comes to artistic works, tackling anything avaliable to him from pottery to painting to prose. His fascination with the arts was born from a childhood of bedrest, when he was quite unable to join his healthier peers in play. While many Plague clans are known to cast out the unwell, his parents were quite adept at hiding his illness, feigning instead that he was simply a child prone to intense shyness and individualism. Few cared enough to challenge their assertion, and thus the coatl grew up in uncomfortable peace, battling both his permanent sickness and intense loneliness. Art was all he could learn to turn to in this time, his own parents even unwilling to donate much time to their child beyond their sparing of his life. Perhaps this explains his bombastic attitude in the current date - a guard against the self his parents crafted on his behalf, and a distraction from his biological flaws in turn. Few can match his personality in its size, a thing that quite literally fills any room he steps into. Commanding attention is a specialty of this coatl, both behind and in front of the paintbrush. Now he may never again be ignored.

His claims to fame do not end just at the berth of his work or disposition. Wildfyre is also responsible for the creation of the Scarred Wasteland's most prominent cultural arts center, sitting proudly at the lip of the Wyrmwound in defiance of all common stereotype of Plagueling dragons. What is largely considered a place of death, disease, and mutation has been embraced by Wildfyre and his peers of Mother's Cough, whom base their operations from Wildfyre's hub. They seek not to challenge these assumptions of the Plaguebringer's cauldron of sick, but to incorporate them into a brand of art uniquely reflective of their heritage. Dragons from wider Sornieth who would have previously never dared to set foot within the Wasteland now consider paying Wildfyre's hub a visit, home to the best creative ventures that Plague dragons have to offer. And the coatl plays the part of gracious host fantastically on behalf of MC. Rarely leaving the center as if his soul were attached to it - and indeed, with the amount of time that Wildfyre has poured into it, it might as well be - it is rare to see the place in anything less than prime condition. Works of art line every hallway from the region's finest artists, a large central stage hosts both formal, improv, and rehearsal shows for the curious dragon to intercept, and twenty-four hour creative spaces are open to the public for working on all manners of individual projects. One might not even see any other staff members at the place other than Wildfyre, who is constantly dashing between rooms and making himself acquainted with guests. He swears up and down that he has a staff at his behest, but a careful eye can detect this as untruthful. It seems this perfectionist cannot stand trusting his project to anyone other than himself.

Given his many involvements in Plague's cultural movement, it's a wonder that the coatl can manage to complete any work of his own, or sleep. While it is impossible to confirm how much he engages in the latter, much to the chagrin of his friends, his studio answers to the fact that he does indeed find the time and energy to create. Tucked within the center behind what appears to be a janitor's closet, a narrow room blooms into the coatl's part-bedroom, part work-space, one far more utilized than the other. If the center runs low on new work - creative blocks tend to be communal when working alongside peers - it is Wildfyre to the rescue, whose work is often inspiration enough to once again turn the gears of the center's inhabitants. It also gives Mother's Cough plenty of rentable works to lend out to the wider community, further cementing the organization and center's cultural importance. Wildfyre sees himself then as the glue that keeps both the center and organization in operation, a task of such monumental importance that it comes before everything else in his life - good rest, love, and eating included.

Is there any burning out for this torch of Plague artistic excellence? Slowly, the coatl's body has grown hotter and hotter, as if the heat is intent on eating itself from the inside out. Yet when there's work to be done, what use is listening to the physical body? Sick all of his life, Wildfyre is tired of letting his failing health prevent him from doing what he loves, even if it means burning the candle from both of its ends. A shortened life in servitude to the arts is better than one bound to the bed, he figures.
