Biography

(Ttiuronohon)Project Automne completed on November 18, 2014. (A birthday gift to myself.)

Leron the Lutenist

Many years ago, the Twisted Spires clan had come across a clanless Spiral ambling about in the Scarred Wasteland. Interrogating him, they determined that his head must be messed up, for the Spiral insisted that not only did he not know what Sornieth was, but that he was a Tundra!

They would have just abandoned him there, but the Spiral did prove to have an impressive sense of smell, comparable to that of a Tundra like he claimed to be. It didn't take much convincing for the clan leader to take him in, naming him 'Automne' for his colors and setting him on the hunting party to suss out prey as the keenest scent-tracker in the Twisted Spires clan.

Not the best idea. The dragon proved to be incredibly scatterbrained, constantly forgetting things and not much interested in doing what he was told. Instead of hunting, Automne would fly about the Scarred Wasteland and beyond out of idle curiosity, sometimes not returning for weeks on end.

In reality he was seeking something to fill the empty hole that he always felt within.

It was when he stole his lute from a band of buskers during one escapade that he felt his blood sing, the only thing besides flying to ever feel like home. Making music made him so happy, even though he was initially awful at it. Eventually he even added his own singing voice, something that pestered his clanmates to no end.

He spent countless years soaring the currents, his power over wind magic allowing him to fly easily while still playing his lute and singing. Automne had always been the best flier in the Twisted Spires. Eventually he became more comfortable with himself, forgetting that he was actually a 'Tundra,' but also forgetting about his clan and even his name. Finally, while staying for a brief period of time with an Ice clan, a Tundra living there gave him the name 'Leron.' Leron liked the name a lot and etched it into in his soul.

One day he was flying through the Twisting Crescendo when he drew near the storm's eye. The furious winds tore his wings and flung him far to the ground, where he was impaled in multiple places by a cluster of bamboo stakes. His blood flowed down the bamboo and into the isolated grove hidden within. He found just enough breath to begin sputtering a swan-song, something that he felt within his soul was to be his greatest, truest piece. Before he could finish, his last breath fled him, mixing with his blood and forming a new Wind egg from which he was reborn.

Not understanding what happened, Leron has continued his restless travels, seeking answers and trying to remember that last song before his first death. While he has since found his way back to the Twisted Spires, he never remains for long.

All of his deaths since have been violent, and the swan-song he first attempted to utter only then remembered but still never completed. It's said that in the Windswept Plateau there is a dense copse of bamboo holding aloft a Spiral's skeleton, and that the whisper of a haunting, agony-ridden song can be heard on the winds that pass through there.
