______ As a former fortress guard, Fenrir was used to standing and waiting for hours on end. Even in tense moments such as this, his exterior and mood were to remain as calm, cool, and cold as the outside air of the hoarfrost of the fortress, and the newly packed snow of the Snowsquall Tundra. While everyone else seemed to be buckling under the pressure of the meeting, Fenrir remained frozen in his position until he was needed.

______ Elrath finally summoned him to the war table while the other ambassadors spoke amongst themselves, or remained in the quiet corners of their own solitude due to the distrust of the other flights. Fenrir stepped forward and joined the soot-faced Scorch, Fire's Ambassador, and the ever on edge Water's Ambassador, Poseidon, glancing at the map and noticing dozens of markers. Each of these markers were placed on one or more prominent areas of each region of Sornieth.

______ "You're probably wondering why these markers are important, especially to yours, Poseidon's, and Sylvanus's regions," Elrath said. The jade-hued guardian dragon looked up at the mention of his name, his moss-colored, flowery eyes scanned Fenrir's and Elrath's faces before turning away, clearly waiting his turn to be spoken with when the time came. Fenrir nodded solemnly, not saying a word.

______ "Each of these markers, placed by Scorch with his knowledge of the magma lines, represents an impending implosion of lava that is currently happening or will happen in the coming days," Elrath continued.

______ Fenrir's eyes scanned the marker that was just above the Fortress of Ends--the hall of nightmares and horrors locked within, safeguarding the rest of the world from their terror. Fenrir lightly tapped that marker with his pale claw. "Are you saying that there will be a magma burst... an explosion of heat just below the fortress? A heat that could melt away the frost and chains that currently keep the monsters within?"

______ Elrath shut his eyes, taking in a deep breath, opening for them only to be glowing with the light of Lightweaver shining through them. And it wasn't just her light... her voice spoke through his mouth as well. "Exactly. I will be working with the other deities to do whatever it takes to keep the fortress from melting. The consequences, and their inevitable alliance with The Shade will be the catalyst for the end if we do not stop it from happening."
