She was born into the intense flames of the Molten Scar, residing with her family until the time came for her Search. Traveling far was not required, as she soon found the item that would become her Charge. However, the small distance that she did cross had sparked her curiosity. She traveled farther, leaving the Ashfall Waste behind in her ambition to see much more than the hot and burning landscape.

They say she was found by the hunters, starved and unconscious in the trenches of the Carrion Canyon. When awoke, she told them her tale, traveling from the Waste to the Sea of a Thousand Currents, through the bright lands of the Ruins and then stumbling into the Expanse. But she had not faired well in her travels, young and unexperienced as she was. They nursed her back to health and she repaid them with loyalty.

She grew in her strength, average in magic but much preferring her physical capabilities. Donning armor gifted to her by Harriett, she joined the Mirror in protecting the clan. Steelie endured the hardships with them, mourning and losing her hope just as the others did. Her traveling was not ended yet. She cared not for the Wind flight region but something about the Labyrinth has appealed to her.
